DSi and DSi XL Price Drop
Been thinking about finally getting a DS? Or, more likely, upgrading your old piece of hardware to one of the newer iterations of the system?
You might want to hold off until September 12, when DSi and DSi XL will be dropping in price. The new suggested retail price for the DSi will go down to $149.99 CDN (from $179.99) and the DSi XL will fall to $169.99 CDN (from 199.99).
“We know shoppers want to get the maximum value out of every dollar they spend,” said Ron Bertram, Nintendo of Canada’s vice-president and general manager. “Our new Nintendo DSi prices make it easier than ever for consumers to access the tremendous variety of games, applications and social tools on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems.”
According to NDP numbers, through the end of July the DS hardware family has sold over 42.3 million units in North America. With the holidays coming up and the 3DS not coming out until next year, this is some good news.
