Top 5 Worst Batman Villains
If you couldn’t tell by my profile picture I love Batman!
Batman has one of the most iconic rogues galleries in existence. It’s one of the reasons Batman has had such an enduring popularity – everyone can recognize the likes of the Joker, The Riddler or The Penguin.
But, after nearly 70 years of history, there are bound to be some duds.
So, here are the five lamest, useless, and just plain bad Batman villains according to me. From costumes, to origins, to the fact they were never really a threat to the Caped Crusade, these guys are like a running joke in the Batman universe.
First Appearance: Detective Comics #259, September 1958
Julien Day was just a thrill-seeking attention jerk. He stole stamps in his first appearance (expensive stamps!) and sported sixteen different costumes during his first three heists to impress the media. He also themed all his crimes around historical events on the calender, which made him a tad predictable. His appearance in The Long Halloween, while at Arkham in a Hanibal Lector type role, redeemed him a bit and put him higher on this list.
First Appearance: World’s Finest Comics #156, March 1966
First let me say that I like the concept of Bizarro Superman, an evil/opposite version of Superman that comes from a world where up is down, left in right and hello means goodbye.
Batzarro seems a little useless though. Self dubbed the World Worst Detective, he’s basically a lame version of Bizarro.
It was a gimmick that didn’t work when he first appeared (along with Bizarro versions of everyone from Green Lantern to Lois Lane) and it wasn’t much better when he was brought back in Batman/Superman 2005.
First Appearance: Boy Commandos #15, March 1946
Only able to see bright, primary colours because of a botched eye operation, Crazy Quilt killed his doctor and adopted this ridiculous costume, can you blame him though? He fitted the top with multi-coloured lights to help him see and, being a former artist, he began stealing priceless paintings. For 20 per cent commission, before taxes, the Eraser would clean up a crime scene before the cops would arrive. He “erased” the evidence. He also wore an eraser helmet that made him look like a pencil. He was done in by Batman and Robin when they discovered some clues he forgot to wipe out.
First Appearance: Batman #395, May 1986
Burt Weston was a failed actor who wanted to play a memorable villain on screen. In a plea to get more attention for himself, he faked his own death, imitating a scene from a famous movie, but no one paid attention.
Three years later he had lost it and began a career as Film Freak, reenacting crime scenes from famous movies. Harvey Bullock, a Gotham detective, identified the scenes and helped Batman track him down.
Eventually he was hired by Mad Hatter to spy on Bane. Of course Bane, being one of the smartest, strongest, meanest and most badass Batman villains, killed Film Freak without a second thought, ending his shitty, pathetic career.

The Eraser lol. An old boyhood chum of Bruce Wayne, Jim Fiasco (nice name!), gets envious of Wayne, goes nuts and starts wearing a helmet shaped like the eraser end of a pencil. How lame is that?
This was a pretty funny list, thought I would vote to replace Calender with someone like the Allergist or Clock King myself. Maybe you should make a list of “Batman villains who were lame enough to die on their first mission.” lol.
I was really close to putting clock king on the list – consider him number 6.

At least in the Batman TV show, he was played variously by George Sanders, Otto Preminger, and Eli Wallach. Even those fine actors couldn’t raise Mr Freeze from his lameness.
